And some seniors may not know how to log on. The internet is used by people of all ages and many of us cannot imagine life without it.

A number of the senior centers offer classes for things like learning how to use the internet. It takes a special person with a lot of patience to teach seniors how to log on. The first step may be as simple as how to turn the computer on and off.

The classes may be individually conducted or in small groups. Typing is one of the skills that may be required to build. Coming from the 60’s and 70s, you will not see many seniors that can type as quickly as many of the younger generation today.

You are considered a senior by the age of 60. Seniors receive benefits that others may be jealous of, such as limitless discounts at restaurants and movies. The internet allows you to do so many things. You can look up your favorite pie recipe, play bingo online, and meet other seniors in your area.

There are sites geared towards senior citizens. They can network, find social gatherings, or even find love online. And learning how to instant message is one of the fun parts. You don’t even need a telephone anymore. You can send emails to your children and talk with them online, etc.

You can also find a fishing buddy, golf buddy, and more. There are a ton of other seniors that enjoy the similar activities. You might even meet your new best friend. As life proceeds, the older we get, the more likely we will have experienced losing loved ones, including lifelong friends.
